don't know the price of them now but if looking for something that would last a similar length of time i'd go for a clarke 151en. i've had one for 12 years or so and still works perfect. or any blue clarke "en" model would be ok but i believe the red models are chinese but unsure of the quality
been using plusgas 30+years in home car work last couple of years the aerosols seem to lose propellent within a couple of months of purchase. in december i bought a couple of cans from a supplier on ebay who i've used before, went to use the second can last week and could crush it like an empty...
favourites are klingspor. been using them for over 10 years never had one break (as an hobbyist but did a lot of cutting during my cortina restoration:welder:) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266427030268?var=566239108273 tried parweld a few years ago as cheaper and wore down quick and...
quite happy with tina thanks  at the last mot the tester asked if had ever been welded, i replied "just the red bits":welder::welder:
depending on what you intend doing with it one of these would probably be cheaper than making the wheels and setting it all up. probably classed as a toy by most :scared:but it does what i need (mostly smoothing out hammer marks on home made cortina floor repair panels. for the price quality is...
what norsa means is the normal stonechip that you don't add an hardener to like yours dries by evaporation of solvents and although they have dried hard they can be softened/ removed if wiped with paint thinners/ petrol/ brake fluid. where as raptor 2 pack types set and are unaffected in the...
teroson zink spray can be welded when wet or dry. seem to remember it spatters quite a bit, more when dry but gives great protection:welder::thumbup...
i've had an evolution one for about 10 years. the variable speed controller burnt out so i cut it out, joined the wires so it runs at max speed only. works fine for what i use it for (running 40 grit belts, grinding welds) i've changed the end bearing about five times. it's just a standard...
i've watched a few of their videos. great workmanship but like so many on youtube they speed all their work up into timelapse and rubbish musc playing. can't see the point in watching something like that. if i'm watching someone welding a panel in i want to see how long it takes how they cool...
didn't realize how much prices had increased. had my bill today for a refill (argoshield light on volkzone deal) a a 5 kilo .6 wire £123.47! the wire was 47quid:o:welder:
20 odd years ago i bought a seal from 1100 specialist earlpart which fitted fine but also got a couple from scrapyards when i bought spare (toughened) screens:thumbup: i heard some years ago of a 3 door mg 1100 bodyshell. i think there was an article in the club magazine when i was a member (we...
hope the parts fit better than the austin 1100/1300 windscreen rubber i bought in jan 2020 where the top left of the seal is totally wrong (can't cut and re join as the moulded corner is totally wrong) despite emailing them a link to the video and them acknowledging there was a problem and...
plastic padding used to do a really nice "glass fibre filler paste". it was dark green in colour and once set was easy to sand with 80 grit paper. i used it after lechler 29107 to seal the many welded repairs on my cortina followed by upol fantastic to do the shaping then more 29107. still...
i would never sand with a da (but i'm only amateur, my time is free) i use a piece of 10mm thick perspex as a sanding block and sand in straight lines or /////and\\\\\
years ago on cellulose (hobby) paintwork i used to use 3m acryl red 1k stopper. used to feather out beautiful but was expensive so tried top stop but could never get on with it. been using 2k dolphin glaze for about the last 17 years and could never go back to 1k especially now i only do 2k...
