It would be great to see one of these old machines repaired and given a new lease of life but if you do end up breaking it, please let me know as I’d love one or two small components from it.
Thani’s
Picked up an Aeron for £250 which was cheap but perfectly good nick other than a new cylinder and the foam under the base needed replacing. Very comfortable as I have recently been spending a fair few hours a day in it. Might seem costly but when you consider how much longer they’ll last...
Got a load of window packers at the ready too.
Been watching a few videos to put it off as long as I can. I did notice that a lot of carpenters seem to use wood shims rather than window packers but I wasn’t sure it that’s just because they have a load to hand and it’s “free”?
Glad I grabbed a pair the last time I was in Lidl.
Ahh that makes sense. I also need to redo the door lining so I’ll get the linings as good as I can to avoid so much shooting in.
I’m actually in a very similar position. I ended up buying a second hand Bosch for less than I could have got something new from SF or TS. That said, I also have a hand plane already and a circular saw.
Some of my doors will need 6mm taking off the width so I thought I’d prepare myself...
It used to be a rolling 40? years but then stopped for a period and remained at pre '69, the government have reintroduced it as rolling a couple of years ago now.
That front hub I don’t think can be converted to QR. If it was a hub with a bolts through the axle then I think you can.
With the bottom bracket the 68/73mm dimension on the bb is the shell dimension, there should be another dimension which states the axel length. You can measure that with some...
Before lockdown I took my car for a test two weeks before it was due as I was trying to be prepared and it failed. I did the work the next day and went to book in retest. All booked until I had a phone call telling me that they had to postpone as they were not operating on non key workers cars...
That roughness would be the filament layer height. Out of interest, how come they were printed in that orientation?
You can change your support settings to that the overhangs are supported and results in a good finish underneath so the batteries slide in nicely.
Looks good though. I love...
Printed an adaptor to convert my rechargeable work lamp into one that uses my Dewalt batteries. This way i can just swap the battery if it runs out rather than having to put it on charge.
Popped a buck converter in there to step the voltage down. Just need to be careful that I don’t run the...
Thanks for the offers but I already have a replacement gun on it's way. If I find I have time I might buy some bungs like Agroshield has suggested and turn them down...
I could possibly make my own, I have a lathe etc, I just have so many other jobs on at the moment. The only slight issue I could see is that it has a hex broached into the top.
More DIY related than welding/mechanics but I’d left my spray foam gun gummed up. Fine as I had some time and some gun cleaner, freed it all up and got it working after dismantling it, went to nip up a brass threaded cap that retains a spring and a ball bearing and snapped it. Can’t find any...
Feel free to send me your email and I will send it to you. I'll take a photo of the quality of the prints as the prints you have may be better than mine.
Yup, in PLA.
I got given some decent settings that seem to work pretty well. I can send them to you with some install instructions if you'd like?
I considered an Ender 3 Pro but I managed to get the Mega 3 for almost the same money and from what I've gathered just works better straight out of...
