Fair enough mate, dont get grumpy! I dont know you or what you do and rarley follow posts on here. I know Pete and what he has done and his interest in scraping and setting up classes or something similar if i recall correctly from the past. I'm just recomending someone I know and trust. I'm...
@Pete. will probably be able to find them for you easier and link them. I cant recall how much detail was in the posts as it was a time ago now.
Happy scraping or it that 'scrapping'
Im so glad i didnt buy a car with an automatic handbrake when I was looking at a new ar 18 months ago... thank goodness for ford focus! My father (who probably wont drive again due to illness and age ) has my late uncles Peugoet 5008....... so sell it before the brakes need doing! Amother job...
There you go Sam. The names have come up for you already, @Pete. particulary. I hope you are well pete we will have to have catch up at some point.
I hope it helped Sam and you find what you are looking for.
That wont work, it has to remain a natural brass look and you wont find anyone with a bath that big, even if you did the cost would be prohibitive. The original budget was for laquering. Plus, these can not be transported unless it's done by myself. These are very easy to damage and mark with...
Thanks but nope! lol I can't get anyone to paint them in a timley manner and without trying to grossly overcharge, then i will be let down again. I dont have time on my side. I wish i lived up north, people don't seem afraid of things up there! Theres no old school down here apart from me it...
You are probely right. Although i suspect what they used was a lot of elbow grease! The difficulty is these channels are brushed, It's not the same as polishing which is relatively straight forward to maintain. No one can help it seems, thats the problem with this Job.
I hope you are well Shox...
Like a fool (In hingsight) I took on a job I am now massively regretting. This is a brushed Brass Cladding in a shallow U section, 80mm across the long flat and 11mm the leg and the longest length is 2.6Mtr. It's basically a posh cladding for internal use.
Originally these were going to be be...
I can do these for you if needed with no problem, providing your drawings are ok and with a bit of luck you can produce them in a Dxf or export in model format if you have drawn them in 3D.
The only slight problem is I'm in total quarantine due to my situation at the moment. My main machine is...
Correct Mr Hood. It's Spi, my error there. I agree with what you say Mitty is my brand of choice as it always has been, for general workshop use the Insize are perfect, not so expensive that you cry if any any mishaps happen. I hate have using my Mittys and knowing they are getting crapped up...
Just no! Sip are s**t cheap and nasty sold at far to much for junk. I would not use sip even if supplied free.
I recommend Insize from cutwel. I'm a professional user running Engineering workshops. I have no hesitation recommending these as a good home user/professional workshop grade tool at...
This might actually be off a 1D looking at your dims when you say 'Bore'. What is the smallest diameter in the body? 1 1/2 or 1 7/8? The 2D machine takes up to a i think its a 1 5/8 collet without checking. Saying that my current one is a multi bore not spring collet.
I can confirm this is indeed Herbert 2D. I have run many over the years, you have the collet chuck and spring collets. You can also get them to suit Multi Bore collets, they may well be the same fitment. I have had both over the years not ever at the same time to compare.
As you say the logistics is the problem at the moment as far as i know all post offices are shut. My local is and heard this from other sources also
I think couriers are still operating or some are at least. How much do you think you need? A box say foot square? You will have to wash this stuff...
I can probably help you as i produce bin fulls of the stuff. The slight problem is due to circumstances I'm pretty much at home at the mo. I will have to pop into my works to make sure all is well at a various points.
I probably have some pics somewhere of the type of swarf. Not all will be...
You will need lot of heat resource to heat that up! Its doable but if its mild steel your options are limited to case hardening or a form there of, (carburising) or an introduction of carbon in some form. Case hardening has limited uses in this regard. With the invention of battery angle...
