I've had one of these for donkey's, but haven't made brake lines for better than 10 years or so, but the disco will need some replaced soon. I could just about remember how to use it but not explain it, So thanks to Gav, I can have a go making my own instead of putting up with ones made by...
Looking at that machine I'd go for the 180 amp rated version, should be closest to it's rated output. it should be man enough to cope with that machine's full range.
Although I'd try a new liner first, if the torch is not too badly damaged.....
Once you have them you'll wonder how you got by without them!....Watch out for the chips getting absolutely everywhere! A full face sheild is a good idea....
Bearly enough room to stand up let alone work on something!, are you going to repaint the mg at some point? that's a good way to get some nasty scratches......

I once had to spray MDF, the only problem I remember was the edges NEED to be SEALED well or you'll find they soak up paint like a ba*Tard, :o pva worked quite well.

151te is set up for disposable (little) bottles and the 160 has a shelf and reg for full size bottles, I think are the only real differences. ( I stand to be corrected)
and a few quid in price......
Alright chaps, I'll go 2nd.
As a fellow landrover owner, my suggestion is you will need to increase your budget a bit; a more realistic figure would be around £350. it may seem a lot but you get what you pay for, cheap unfortunatly often means quite nasty when you're learning to do youre...
Not a very clear pic but when i did mine i left a tail and fitted a female plug, I can change return leads to suit the job, current set up with a mb15 euro torch. will take a better one in the daylight....:waving:

Easy mistake.....
a couple of pic's to help....standerd reg big thread screws in to bottle gas pipe pushes in to little silver fitting, or if you want to go posh try the twin dial set up, btw the black thing is the spanner you'll need...HTH Dusty:hug:
The 160 usually comes with a smallish reg that has only a gauge to show bottle pressure, take the plastic plug from the bottle valve and it should screw in to the top of the valve, push fit the gas line into small fitting...turn on bottle by using square fit spanner (boc a couple of quid) and...
I'm with you Pat repair it and enjoy it! :clapping: So old disco's are rust buckets, so what! That's part of the fun, YRM make some good repair panels, might be worth a look at.
I too have a rotten disco in need of some tlc with a welder, rear floor,(done) inner front wings and still...
That wasn't me and i can't remember who? :ashamed: sorry but I did make a few mods to my own.

First reg 02/01/90...
