I have it set at about 10lpm. Whats a pea shooter for the torch? I might try put some fresh parts on the torch to see if that helps. The mesh was a tiny bit dirty but I put my finger over the torch when pressing the trigger and could feel the high pressure.
Hi everyone, I've been welding for a while and had a few jobs come in for aluminium which I'm not too familiar with but done ok with it. In the past I've used the same set up as I always do but this last job had been inconsistent with the welds. This is the last job I welded:
Then this is...
It's a ladder for a boat, has a curve that has a fairly large radius. I was told the look isn't too important so a little compression won't matter but I don't want it being too flat either. Would the filling with sand method be worth doing?
Hi all, I'm looking to bend some 1 inch SCH 10 stainless 316 pipe. I've been looking at these pipe benders, used one before for carbon and aluminium but heard they can be difficult with stainless. Has anyone had any issues with these?
Also, any idea where I can find what size ton I need? They...
Ok I guess I'll have to cut right through, does the type of cutting disc or grinding disc matter for aluminium? Is there a chance this is causing contamination also?
I'm welding an aluminium frame at the moment and it's been going great except for one fillet weld that I can't seem to get right.
What happens is it welds perfectly at the start and then mid way, the weld pool has a pin hole in it, I try to add filler but it barely covers it.
So I thought it...
OK thanks for the explanation. I do have a 32A breaker but not an industrial blue outlet which I guess is the other issue here, even if my breaker can take it, the current would be too much to pass through a domestic outlet?
I take it this is where the electrician comes in and at the very...
Thanks for the info Adam and bigegg. I think I'm going to have to hire an electrician here. Would a 32A breaker with C curve be enough for the 250amp fairly consistently without tripping?
How is the 32A calculated on the circuit breaker to run 250A on the welder?
Hi everyone.
I have a 250 amp welder and want to hook it up to a domestic supply. There's a 32amp breaker and also higher for the shower (63amp?).
What is the best way to wire this so it can plug into a 3 pin outlet in the house without doing any permanent wiring changes to the house?
I know...
