Morning Premmington,
My suggestion of 1/5 was a guesstimate and nothing more. Think we would all be surprised if we knew the actual number. Performance tuned cars with delete pipes from relatively new etc etc.
The GDI cars run GPF or OPF to catch particulate along with NOX catalysts. Anyone who...
Not with you?
The big picture is long term environmental damage and public health issues due to fine particulate matter coming out the back of diesel cars with a DPF delete.
Replacement of these units when they block/fail is very expensive indeed...... Deleting cannot be justified because it’s...
I have the correct VW approved ADAS calibration rig......... Bosch DAS3000.
To meet current legislation the 'repairing' garage must be IMI accredited to conduct the calibration as its safety related and needs to be signed off to meet insurance requirements.
Car has to be loaded with fuel (full...
I'm with you entirely;
People driving cars mis-sold based on an efficiency figure/mpg that's not attainable when they cover 10 miles of town driving a day!
More worryingly; garages/MOT test centres offering to remove DPF's for financial gain and knowingly issuing a fresh MOT test certificate...
The soot is unburned fuel/hydrocarbons
There will be some particulate but it's a miniscule amount. Hence, why output is stated as g/km. Typically 0.001 g/km on something efficient
No DPF = everything that comes out of the engine goes into the atmosphere!
It's why the removal of a DPF is...
Really don't want to appear rude but; do you understand what a DPF does and the significant health implications are to us once it is removed? Modern DI Diesel engines produce very fine particulate matter. Easily taken into the lungs and stays there. DPF retains this matter and gets burned off...
As previously said: you get what you pay for........... Pattern stuff in this department is cheap because it's built to a price. Generally lasts a very short time and is noisy/not comparable to the original item.
I won't fit pattern DPF's to my customers cars.
It's Japanese so a new one from...
I have found all courier services to be very 'random' with no apparent delivery standard.
Parcel force have been great for me until recently when my screwfix order was five days late...... They claimed not to be able to find my house, yet have delivered here many times before!
UPS were hopeless...
You guys are right....... the extra to place more concrete in the mix is negligible. Pretty sure mine was C30 in both sheds. Both have wire mesh and the big shed had fibres too. I have not had any trouble with my floor being wet but I’m mindful of the risk of slipping so careful.
I placed the...
We repaint our 5,000 sq/ft floor at work annually
Use an epoxy paint, it's expensive but looks pretty good and lasts well.
Problem for us is when it gets chipped when dropping something heavy/sharp on. Moisture can then get under and blow surrounding areas.
If welding over it the paint can...
Back to the OP..........
ADAS on vehicles has been around for decades (parking sensors). Most recently it’s evolved into forward, rear and side cameras/radar.
The systems work really well generally with very few problems/glitches. However, they can be susceptible to interference from other...
Hi Guys
Well I read the ‘how to’ guide and ‘machine setup’.......... Read the EWM machine manual too and felt totally inadequate!!
Had a few passes over 2mm box and thought it wasn’t too bad aside of worrying if I could maintain a constant tungsten gap AND feed filler? To be honest; I was...
For me there are two ways of looking at it:
The machine is not for commercial gain and I don't currently TIG weld.
Buy on a budget and struggle to move the machine on for anywhere near my initial investment if I don't get on too well with the process?
OR
Buy the best I can afford/top end. I...
Guys,
That’s really good advice and exactly the reason why I looked on here and asked the questions
To be honest; I’m struggling to justify serious expenditure at the moment given our current uncertainty.
I have my own business and am responsible for 9 employees who’s livelihood and security...
Hi Brockenhammer,
Thank you for taking the time to further expand upon the Hz matter.
I can only hope to be as proficient with a TIG and require such an adjustment range!
Given the current situation we find ourselves in; I’ve placed the purchase on hold.
There’s no immediate rush to buy for me...
Thanks Mankul
That pretty much qualifies it for me...... Kemppi are market leaders and know more than a thing or two about the process!? If a welder genuinely needed more than 300hz range the machine would have it, right?
I’m drawn to the Kemppi because of the user interface which is more...
Morning Brockenhammer,
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply with detailed explanations.
Initially my intentions are to weld steels in order to hone my skills, so to speak.
Once I'm comfortable with the machine I would like to move onto aluminium.
It's a hobby thing to start with...
Update:
Having reviewed prices and specifications I’ve booked a demonstration with a Kemppi MasterTig 230A ac/dc with cooler and foot pedal.
From an ‘idiot’ perspective; the TFT screen allows the user to select material and thickness and adjusts parameters to suit. Obviously this feature is a...
Thanks for taking the time to look at this and reply guys. Greatly appreciated and very useful to a TIG novice like me.
Will look into the Lorch products.
I’ve just had a quote in for a Fronius Magic wave 230i with cooler that is comparable to the Kemppi on price alone.
have a good day...
Hi,
New to the forum but not to welding!
I have read through a large number of threads but not found anything specific to my question so here goes:
Looking to purchase an AC/DC water cooled TIG for general use.
I’m not familiar with TIG machines nor am I proficient at TIG welding!
With this...
