This was not my first welding repair but I did restore this MGA aged 18-19, 50 years ago with an Oxford arc welder, sills, inner sills, door pillar repairs, front shroud repairs, and a patch on the side of the chassis, making a better job this time round......
Filler spread onto a page from the Ex and M, applied by hand before it sets, then underseal, or flashbanding, heat the metal, apply flashbanding, underseal.......
13.5 is a normal rate of charge, you may have cooked the battery as your charging system may be more for an older type lead acid battery and likely you have a gel or similar battery now, probably under warranty?

Jag has driven around the garden, PAS is working, clutch feels good, brakes work, have moved it into the top part of the shed and moved the MGA into the workshop part, now fitting the headlining into the Jag, then glass, then interior,
I have used Lumiweld and Technoweld to repair aluminium and Mazac castings, there is only around 10 degrees between Mazac and the Lumiweld rods and usually the mazac casting grows so if possible try to hold the broken casting in a former or mould made from say plaster etc, not much point in...
