I am planning to paint my lawn mower with a aerosol 2K direct gloss Kawasaki green but I wanted to know if I can get away with just a zinc primer and then the 2K direct gloss or will I need a base coat as well??
I seem to remember reading something similar to what Pigeon is saying that's why HB can get away with saying it's 2K, however I still think they and others should be made to label it accordingly as for someone who doesn't know any better gets confused too easily like I did...

Well someone said it might be a precatalyzed type which has a acid activator in the solution and becomes active and starts the catalyzing process when it hits the air as it leaves the can. I did initially think the same as you steveo and you could be right, afterall it was an eBay purchase!
Okay I understand that there are 2k rattle cans where you have to activate the hardener via a button or push action on the can to mix it, however I bought a rattle can with 2k written on it but there wasn't a button or anything, this left me somewhat confused??

I am have a made a mould out of resin and glass fibre and wanted to finish the inside off with paint, maybe I should have just gone with a gelcoat but I already has some tins of Acrylic. Still it should be fairly straight forward to use, trying to get the perfect finish...
