The second replacement was a little squeaky because the motor pulley was around 3mm high so I adjusted the motor on its fixings a little lower and the squeaking stopped.
I've watched videos on youtube about adjusting the heights on the pulleys but their drills had a grub screw on their pulleys...
They sent a complete drill, but instead of building the base and table again I just undid the top section (2 grub screws) and put it on my already built base.
It was fine really but I just fine tuned the height of the pulleys
Only trouble I had was the motor pulley was a little high and causing some squeaking of the belts when it revolved.
These drills have a hex bolt on the end of the motor shaft to secure the pulley not a grub screw as in other youtube videos of pillar drill videos.
So I slackened the motor...
thanks after talking with them they were going to send a new motor out, but was not happy with changing it and messing about so a new complete drill is on it's way for Monday
I recieved the new Capacitor from Axminster, connected it up and it's still the same?
Makes a humming noise but wont rotate, the new capacitor gets warm though?
If you do the lawn mower start with it with a piece of string and get it revolving before pressing the on button it works fine..
Any...
It would be good if they could send me a replacement top part, so it's a matter of just lifting it and replacing it.
It's all bolted to workbench at the moment. plus vice is all bolted down too
Thanks I did have a look at adjusting the pulleys when I first got it.
There is an hex bolt on top of the motor pulley, will the threads be normal as in anti clockwise to loosen?
The motor or capacitor?
Did think the Fobco may have been better idea.
But then its finding one that doesn't have any problems and no come back?
What I do like about the Axminster is the rack and pinion adjustment on the table.
The keyless chuck cause my old one was keyed.
The easy swivel...
It came in a giant box on a pallet and once I set it up I had a trip to the tip so got rid of it all.
Ive messaged Axminster tonight and their customer service is supposed to be good so will wait and see.
