cumbriasteve it is pure Argon.
slim_boy_fat yaeh that's what I've come to myself, the Argon is with another type of regulator specific for Argon.
Hmmm looks like I have to change setup ..... oh well ..... 2 different wrenches, chain of switch chain on (why do I start thinking "Karate kid ??? )...
Hiya all
After I changed to Argon my welder have started to misbehave. It seems that the sweetspot for welding don't exist on the machine, or is so narrow that I can't find it.
It doesn't matter what power range I use, and the feedspeed is eighter to fast or to slow. The welder runs on 16A...
Awelco Unimig 250
Weight of the machine, 90kg +gas and wire.
Time it takes to get answers from manufactor, 30+ days if you are lucky.
What display means, is on the inside of the door to wirereel, not on the front.
After a month's waiting I finally got my manual, and an appology from Sweden about the long response time.
They were courious how it ended in Denmark, and I told them. As curtesy o the wait, and so on, they have send me the drivewheel for 0.6+1.2mm wire free of charge.
The welder have now paid...
It is a secondhand set, so I can't really say, but I got 2 49-2's and the second one works ok. Guess it have been dropped at some point :(
The seller told me that it only had been used, by an old lady, to light her stove :dontknow::laughing:
Just got hoses and connectors for my Harris 43-2/49-2 combo, and after mounting and checking for leaks, I fired up the torch.
It was a little difficult to adjust, but after fiddling around, I got it going. Cutting in a 10mm steel plate, the torch farted and didn't want to cut anymore. I removed...
After the demise of my Esab Miggy 125 feed motor, and no luck getting a new, I got hold of a firsthand ? Awelco Unimig 250.
I can't find out if it is a firsthand or secondhand model as the original 5 kg spool still was in the machine, and there still is 75 bar in the bottle. I almost stole it...
Thank you all
I was just down to refill my acetylen & oxygen bottles, and asked about it.
It is a steel smith compagny, and he said "If you can afford it, we have mixgas 82-18 % argon/co2"
He also said to use pure co2 for carbody work (which I allready know), and that pure co2 is messy
with...
Hi zx9
Yeah I figured that about pure argon, but what mix would go best ? some swear to 20-80% co2-argon, others claim that you almost can sit back and have a cop a tea while the mix of this % oxygen or other combined with that % of co2 in the argon mix will do the job for you.
Well maybe not...
I have been using my friends Migatronic welder on and off for a few years, but yesterday I finally got a welder of my own, a Esab Miggy 125.
After looking around and reading a lot, I have been wondering if I should change gas from the co2 that followed the Miggy to argon. What I understand from...
Hello all
Just got my first welder, as stated a Miggy 125 running 380 volts, with the original torch and 0.6mm wire.
It needed a little TLC to fire up first time, like spooling off the first 4 layers of wire, new regulator and a new earthclamp.
It runs ok, but studders, splutters and just...
