That reminds me of a time I had a Chinese 125 - copied Honda.
Was replacing swingarm bushies and got over eager with the press:ashamed: purchased the Honda swingarm, that was off centre.
The fun of projects.
Looking forward to the finished article.
If it's a temporary shelter perhaps use containers filled with water for the weighs . Also if your close to Croft race circuit pay a visit on a "club" race day, you will see all kinds of methods used to secure lightweight structures.
Started work in aotomotive parts supply, a dozen jobs later Kiln burner producing house bricks. One job I did enjoy was bin man pre wheeled bins, good hours good mates and weirdly satisfying working physically hard in all weather's. Some of those old galvanized bins where just as heavy empty as...
I would also replace the bolts when replacing the link suspension bushies as they do wear out and increase the "play". Also I have filled swing arm with expandable foam this helps keep the grit out of the hub preventing it seizing. Just a suggestion.
After watching a friend use my drill decided to fit this extra stop switch. It was that or not let him use it again. I have a vice and clamps next to the drill but he thought his hands made better clamps. Now when things get scary at least I don't have to take him to hospital.

I ran my Myford 7 with a link belt for a while, with no problem. But looking at your pics there isn't sufficient clearance on your lathe to use link belts. When the belts go around the pulleys they protrude out quite far.Nice work by the way.
One of the deciding factors for me was the size of the machine the Gys is portable, same spec machines such as Jassic are considerably bigger. But reading your posts regarding machines your considering that may not be important. If I had your budget I would of had water cooled machine. As you...
Hi Fazerruss, I recently went through same process as you. Stretched my budget and bought Gys 207 for hobby welding, no regrets at all. I did consider w/c and still do but not using the set for long periods of time. But I like to think I might.
Here`s another Myford
I have an Invertek drive which controls the motor.
The motor is a 3 phase 0.75 kW 2880 rpm I know that’s over spec but being able to control the motors low speed is really useful.
These additions to the lathe where made through barter, as the cost would be more than the...
