So when I've established a neutral flame there should be a small gap between the cone and nozzle? This does make sense as the flame could be burning inside the torch tip.
I just came back to it today (day off work). Didn't try to weld, all I was doing was lighting the torch and looking at the flame... Concentrating on getting a neutral flame. Did try adjusting gas pressure.
But as said tip did tend to get hot when Oxy was added. Just thinking if tip gets too hot...
Should a swaged Oxy Acetylene welding tip get hot?
I can hold the tip with my bare hands when just Acetylene is burning, but when I introduce Oxygen the tip starts to get hot.
Is this normal?
Running #2 tip 4psi Oxy & Acetylene.
Thanks for any help
Yeah... Do need more practice on pipe these jobs don't come through very often.
But I've seen some people using filler and others fusion welding.
Is there a right or wrong way?
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if there's an official process for sanitary pipe. But does it require filler (for procedure). The attached photo was pulse welded 1.5mm using no filler but is used for extraction.
A job comes in occasionally at work that requires welding brackets onto dirty galvanised tread plate. I did use a 6013 , no real issues, but I now keep 6010 rods in just for this job... these are noticeable better in my opinion. But only tend to work on big transformers.
These pir are disabled during working hours, but whenever the alarm people come out ( which is quite often) they always seem to do maintenance on a box that is literally behind my machine.
Would it have anything to do with the HF spark gap? As it arcs up just fine but as far as I know these...
Hi everyone
I use a Syncrowave 250 at work, and it may just be coincidence but more or less every time I use it the alarm goes off.
I'm thinking it maybe the HF on the welder has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers
Dom
I tend to prefer using a passive helmet with a gold lens.
All of a sudden all Aulektro lenses are "end of line limited stock"
And if you use a monkey mask those lenses are extremely hard to get. Shops are selling the masks knowing that it's difficult to buy the lenses.
Just wondering if anyone...
Hi everyone,
Just having a play about with the old oil cooled welder at work.
If we're not that busy I jump on the oil cooled welder and lay beads for practice. (316, 312, 7018, 6013, 6010)
Does anyone know if the Cytringham oil cooled welders are AC or DC as it will run a 6010 electrode but...
