A helicoil or even a cheaper version would be fine for this, a little locktite and it will probably see you out. My recommendation would be don’t over think it.
Depends on extraction and the type of gun you are using. But personally, I wouldn't risk it. I would chuck the compressor outside on an extension cable making sure its not near the extraction exhaust.
I would say that thing has no chance. That lpm figure is nowhere near accurate of the output at even 6bar. I have just bought rge 50lt twin pump version of that t (for the exact same reason as you) but haven’t used it yet.
Thanks for all the input guys. I know there is some contraversy over isocynate and filters. I have no doubt many have been fine using something like a pp3 but I don’t want to personally risk it, as I say I have asthma anyhow from years of soldering with rosin core without proper ventilation.
I...
Thanks Aj, also for the tip on the spray gun.
I already have asthma, from rosin core soldering. These days I take ppe a lot more seriously. I wish I had when I was younger, then my hearing and breathing would be in a better way.
My main question is really about the desiccant dryer, Is this...
I was thinking both together would be better than just using the 3hp one for the mask.
I am hesitant of selling one and buying another as I need to spray in a couple of weeks and the price of a semi decent compressor these days has shot right up. Even for second hand people still want decent...
I have a Karcher K2. It's pretty weedy, doesn't flow much. Has lasted ok but I agree about the hose, IMHO that's the second most important thing, after decent power (flow and pressure) a decent flexible and rotating hose makes a world of difference. I did use a karcher at work, that was a beast...
I was a bit surprised to be honest, the 3hp only just keeps up. There is a low pressure whistle. And the car is small so I can stop the spraying for a little to let it catch up. Really I need a single much larger comp but I have to make do at the moment with what I have. Im thinking now I should...
Hi Parm, Thanks for the reply. The filters I mean are for the compressed air, the compressor is oil lubed and there will likely be oil contaminated water vapour in the lines (I get little when spraying at the moment)
This is the mask I have bought...
Good afternoon guys.
I have finally gotten myself an air fed mask for painting 2k at home and I am also overhauling my compressed air set up in the workshop to something a little less temporary. I am running 15mm copper lines and will be using diy desiccant dryer for the paint line. But from...
I would shoot non iso 2k paint over a single comp paint, however I haven't actually yet tried any non iso 2k paint so take that with a pinch of salt. I just have never been impressed with the chemical resistance or longevity of single comps.
There is a good chance that it’s not 230v. So I wouldn’t go in all guns blazing.
Still not the right cable but not dangerous if it’s feeding 24v or so from a transformer.
I wouldn't recommend doing this from experience. I have done similar with a grinder. Not sure if it was heat whilst cutting or the inherent stresses in the box section when its formed but the thing twisted and warped like crazy.
Worth checking rotation and pressures. Often tyre shops just whack in 40+ psi.
Other than that new tyres take a couple hundred miles to get rid of the release agents and excess oils.
Or you were just unlucky, diesel spilt on the road or ice etc.
