Yes that’s my thinking now......
Can’t remember if this door had paint on or was bare. One was one wasn’t
Need some more thinners so that’s a job for next week now.
I’ve been painting a car in cellulose and have had an odd reaction on a door.
Would anyone have any suggestions as to what may have happened.....it’s been done exactly the same as the rest of the car. This door just seems to pucker up the paint.....
I painted my car with a 2hp 50 litre compressor.
The hardest part was painting the bonnet as it’s the entire front end and the compressor was playing catch-up.
Sanded back and mopped it came up great (this was using cellulose).
I now have a much bigger compressor and the difference is...
I’ve got the 150litre version of the compressor mentioned.
It’s brilliant however I did initially burn out a capacitor due to running it continuously whilst using an air sander.
It kept up fine but then the capacitor got very hot and started smoking.
I bought mine 2nd hand and having only...
Haha all this is a foreign language to me.......if I knew what you all meant I'd not have needed to ask the original question.
Thank you though for all the effort you've all gone too to respond!
I think I messed up as I bought a capacitor from a local source, they charged me £40! I think I'd...
Ok thanks,so sounds like I just ran it for too long continuously......
How long would be deemed acceptable?
Is there any benefit to me relocating the compressor to make use of my 16a supply or should I just continue where it is?
I have an abac 150l 3hp fm3 pro compressor.....it should be run off a 20amp supply I believe but I've been running it on a 13 amp plug.
Today whilst sanding the capacitor started smoking and got very hot ( melted cover).
I had been sanding for a fair while and the compressor was running.
Would...
The only issue with the clarke industrial is the tank sizes appear much bigger.....
I'd already realised that the belt drive were much quieter having used my friends so that's a definite.
Other than that I think I'm limited to 3hp due to cost and power supply?
I spray with celulose so no need...
If my understanding is correct......
I can't find what the free air delivery is for the red clarke.... They just list the max it produces and not what's delivered to the tool. The abac is 10.1 cfm free air which appears pretty good and will power the air sander etc.
I'd also need a vat free...
I'm looking for some advice really .....
I'm currently rebuilding a classic car and once I've done all the welding etc it will need rubbing down and painting.
I've already done one and made do with a 2hp direct drive 90l sip....I now would prefer a larger unit.
I'm currently borrowing a 3hp 90l...
I have 10mm wiring so can got to 70A it's just getting the fuse to stop tripping I'm struggling with. I've been advised to go for a 32A type C so will give that a go.
Thanks
Alex
I used the same guns as you posted off ebay when I used gravitex on my spitfire.
Gave good results, I did find it helped to thin it down a bit to get a nicer finish though.
Alex
I fitted a used c type fuse, unfortunately although it's remedied the problems on the lower power settings it's not helped on the higher settings.
I guess there's always the chance the 2nd hand fuse is weak, however I don't want to keep buying fuses to get it right.
Should I have tried a type d...
