In cold water thats asking for trouble on something so fine ? engine oil would be far better but make sure you do it outside as it does flame up sometimes and smokes like hell ! leave it in the oil for a good couple of hours to fully cool. I used this un many small dies and punches when i was...
Im sure the inner wing and part of the slam panel you can knock back into shape then just reinforce the crease where its crumpled in, should be a nice easy repair good luck
Could the contractors be high low speed and emergency stop ? most lathes I've used have an idle gear to put it in reverse off of a lever. 110v low speed high torque and 240 high speed low torque. 24v to controls for contractor switching.
if you can't get any spares for it you can deffo get hold of a infa red transmitter/receiver beam and wire that in its only going to be a low voltage switch to the controls i would have thought, and the switch at the beam could be changed for normally open or normally closed contacts to suit
Nice and when you want to make some cash and your not using it for welding hook it up to the national grid and sell them some electricity !
i love these projects great stuff
Yeah the conversion should be good I started it a year ago this month and I've nearly completed it with all wiring systems and abs fitted myself. The welding has been a massive task and is so time consuming.
The engines are prone to the rocker covers leaking what you can do is machine about 1mm...
Turrets all welded in place making my front end suspension now adjustable for caster and camber
The inner sills needed repairs so the rot has been cut out and new metal added
Passenger footwell rotten
outer sill fitted
Weld on inside of door to make it easier...
Thought i would pick up a proper bottle of gas for my mig and i must say what a massive difference over the co2 pub gas :clapping:
Much better penetration ,cleaner weld and also seems a lot cooler when welding thin panel steel
First bit on to high a voltage 2nd on lowest setting on 1mm steel...
Finally spoke to the owners and it is being sold apparently for £2000 i have told them how desirable and they are worth quite a bit but think they just want rid as the family is suffering due to ill health.
Been busy accumulating some parts ready to replace the inner and outer sills on the old estate and I've also gone for new strut tops for my adjustable front suspension, spent 5 hrs machining the turret tops out of 7" mild steel only got to drill a 5 hole 5 1/4" pcd on them tomorrow will post more...
Cant you but a high temp propeller assembly with drive shaft and then fit your own motor to suit ? May be the best way as i do know the medical pumps do use a platinum coated pipe to avoid chemical sticking which is quite pricey stuff the pumps are the cheap parts lol
nice better use braided teflon I've used fuel /ethanol resistant rubber but you can still smell the fuel through the rubber when its parked up in the garage for a few days (live and learn)
Im a sort of beginner and use co2 it does give a little bit of splatter and weld is not as clean as using an argon mix but as its free for me (local pub probably costs me more in beers lol) and i have to clean the welds after I'm not to bothered and if my bodywork catches fire i can just blast...
Its not really the chain its the chain guides that disintegrate and end up in the sump i have rebuilt the bottom end and all is well.
The engine uses a single chain with one hydraulic tensioner the newer scorpio engine used 2 chains and 2 tensioners (one chain for each head)
see how the...
