When I joined this forum some years ago (apologies, I've been absent for some time), someone suggested Lincoln wire. I've only got through a a couple of reels, but wouldn't buy anything else.
I bought a used M2060 from another forum member a couple of years ago. It's a great welder (a shame I'm not); and a different animal from my Clarke. Much more refined.
I'd go with a grey, light or medium shade. Use a 2 part epoxy like Jotamastic. Various types so you'll have to research the one you need.
I recently did a large workshop floor with a one part Johnsons "heavy duty" floor paint. Rubbish. Trashed in a day.

Thanks again Gaz1. I don't have any larger bore pipe, so I'll have to think about that. I might cut a portion out of the 3" pipe and weld a bit of 2" box section (with one side cut out) to it. Otherwise, fabricate a short section and look out for some flexi.
