That painting looks great. Really looking forward to seeing this getting the paint. When looking at Novol website they seem to have countless layers you can apply. Are you going for epoxy, then high build primer and then topcoat or are their more layers you will be adding?
A local horse dentist had one which he did over 200k miles. My mates garage looked after it and he fitted a new propshaft to it just before he sold it but mate said it had been good to him and had many years left init!
I think you are a bit like me Clive. I have always said a day away from the farm is a day wasted! I struggle with holidays, all that traffic, hours stuck in a car with ratty kids, never sleep right in a strange bed and the wife want's to go in these bloody shops selling useless tat!
As I don't have a power drill my wrist was aching by the time I had all the screws out to unpack my English Wheel. Great and careful packaging for a thing of beauty!
Thanks for all the advice everybody. My wife treats her car like a skip and it is very rarely clean. I get the colour matching will not be great but if it is better than white she wont complain! It's 12 years old and done 120'000 miles, scrapes on most panels so if this goes well I may touch up...

I would say that is a fantastic effort.Welding looks top notch and will have given the Jag years of extra life! My mate did similar with a X-type saloon. He only paid £120,replaced the sills and has had 2 years cheap motoring.
What epoxy primer for bare metal car restoration. I asked a friend who works at Dingbro and he said they have Max Meyer system but they don't keep an epoxy primer. He was going to look up if Max Meyer do one. I was watching a whiteland restorations utube video and he said lechler epoxy was all...
I bought one from Dixons of Westerhope in Newcastle over the phone. Delighted with the welder. Used on thin car body work and it has been brilliant. Welded on some gate crooks is the only thicker stuff I have done as yet and it ran very sweetly. Go to Dixons and I am sure they will answer all...
