I think the glow plug is used on shutdown as well to try and get rid of any left over fuel, could be wrong though!
I'm still amazed at how much a genuine Webasto costs an how much the spares are, looks like a complete rip off to me for whats little more than a parafin blow lamp in a heat...
Is it branded Planar?
My Chinese one also has a broken clip and it works fine, however I might have tripped over something while installing it in the garage and dropped it...
Is that normal or is something else wrong? Ive not driven many cars with stop start but none did it before the engine was starting to warm up, warm enough for the heater to produce heat.
I use cpc for electronics stuff, cheap and free delivery for orders over £17.50
However however I find the catalogue easier to use than the website to get part codes. The catalogue can be downloaded as a pdf from a link towards the bottom of their site.
It says 'made in uk' above the earth terminal.
I know what you mean about conning folk though, I used work for a large knitwear company and they used to make a small amount of yarn. That would be sent abroad to sweat shops, mixed with a lot of cheap yarn from anywhere, woven into fabrics and...
Over the last few years as we've been decorating the house I've replaced the 30yr old mk stuff with new, cant say I've ever had a problem fitting them and pretty sure its all been labelled made in uk, this one definitely is..
Gotcha, I thought it might have been that thing where there are two chambers with second chamber used to burn the gas from the wood, pyrolyitic stove rings a bell?
Ours works as below;
I'm curious, secondary what?
Ours seems ok, preheats the combustion air, no smoke once lit and runs for weeks at 12+ hours a day through winter before some ash needs removed. Sweep the flue once a year and get half a bucket of soot.
We've got a Burley, cant fault it and they've claimed for years to be the worlds most efficient stove. We bought it as the door glass is huge and the flames do a nice swirl when its hot, something also rings a bell about it needing less clearance than a lot of other stoves.
2nd hand stoves seem to be cheap up here, at least if you're ok with doing the work to clean/repaint it and replace the glass and seals. The boss was looking for one and came across a big aarrow stove for £40, a month later he was offered something similar from someone else. Not bad considering...
If you want to speed it up, use a 0.6 nozzle. Less travelling per wall thickness and less layers for a given height, quality is a slightly lower but I think the lower print times far outweighs that.
600ml a day in ideal conditions means its probably peltier based instead of having a compressor. It'll be quiet but wont remove much moisture under normal use.
Best bet is to spend at least a hundred or so for a proper compressor unit for house use or a dessicant wheel type for a workshop where...
I think its 200mm from the outside of the liner in a chimney / wall to combustable materials dont think it matters on the flue size, less if there is a big enough air gap between the wall and the combustables. A wooden mantle would need to have 200mm thickness of wall between it and the flue.
Is the installer just saying it needs to go or has he measured it and checked the regs?
Reason I'm asking is wooden mantlepieces are common with stoves and I cant see them all being non compliant with the building regs.
Reminds me of a mate and his wife, they have a nest or hive thermostat and when she's working from home she'll put the heating on. He checks it through the day using his mobile while at his office and turns the heating off if he thinks it shouldnt be on!
Needless to say if he's at home and...
