Hi All,
First post so pleas be kind.
I am fairly new to MIG welding. I bought a MightyMIG150 a few months ago and have been using it to fairly good effect in gasless mode so far and have just converted it to gas mode which I am still getting me teeth around.
One of the (many) things I find tricky is leaving the right amount of wire protuding from the tip ready for the next weld. I find that one has to pull away slightly whilst still feeding the wire to prevent the wire from sticking to the work. This leaves a longer length than required for the next weld meaning I have to snip it down between most welds which can become fustrating. Are there any secret tips anyone can give or is it just a case of releasing the trigger and moving away perfectly and practice makes perfect?
Thanks
Thom
