Fantastic job, Knoba! Must have taken ages? I do hope you charged well for this magnificent work? People rarely appreciate the amount of work that goes into something like this, unless they are been there all the way through. Many thanks for posting.
Only if it's required for tight positional work on cars, or something similar. Otherwise; no. But... to be fair, I always use the grinder with; thick leather gauntlets, welding apron, & good eye protection.
The slow speed, I run the grinder on, gives me far better control and also the time to avoid getting into compromising situations with it.
I don't use the angle grinders' arbour spanner either. I 'nip' the disc up by hand, & upon applying the grinder to the work-piece, the disc self-tightens. When I want to change the disc out, it's easy enough to engage the arbour lock, twist the disc by gloved hand, which releases the arbour nut.
I've been using it this way for the last few years without incident. ...but that's just me.
I wouldn't advise anyone else to follow my example if they didn't feel completely safe about it.
Funnily enough, if I had put in 9-5 hours; a single cap could be done in a day. I took two easy days, per cap, because I absolutely love it. The job is for me...
Thank you for all your compliments. They are much appreciated!
I wanted to offer 'something extra' back to the forum, as a thank you, to you...
