Couldn't you just pull a few plug leads off and bung up the intakes?£165.9 for super unleaded this morning - not a great time to drive a V12 but aw well someone has to do it

That was brilliant!Talk about Deja vu, the first episode of Drop the Dead Donkey from 1990 was shown last night and the headline was Petrol prices soared!! That time it was Iraq invading Kuwait. They have shown the whole series recently and it was still funny.

I saw them reporting from Eire this morning showing one garage limited to 25 litres per customer, how far would that get your V12?.£165.9 for super unleaded this morning - not a great time to drive a V12 but aw well someone has to do it

Most companies have had some form of cylinder deactivation, normally 4 cylinders on v8 , 2 on 4 pots, and 1 on 3 cylinder engines.I think Cadillac had some 8-6-4 system for awhile.

Appear to be showing a full rerun, two episodes a night Monday to Friday. Even Mandelson gets regular attention. Some things never change. What channel was that shown on please? Hopefully on Freeview.
Now with computer control, the controlling of which cylinders to shut off does a random sort of pattern. Most companies have had some form of cylinder deactivation, normally 4 cylinders on v8 , 2 on 4 pots, and 1 on 3 cylinder engines.
the newer ones will deactivate the valves just after inlet stroke to keep a warm air spring, helps engine momentum and stops thermal shock when cylinder is reactivated.
the older ones were unreliable because many of them just killed the spark & injectors, the cylinders would run lean/dry and go cold, will kill the plugs and cause thermal shock to the cylinders.
Back on topic.
Diesel has now steadied around £191.9 round here.
Yeah, I had a car like that too. Never knew it was a feature. Now with computer control, the controlling of which cylinders to shut off does a random sort of pattern.
To keep all cylinders warmed up.
