i think most big brands have been using the light up screens for a number of years (some longer than others). even cheap china stuff is using those screens now. theres no getting around it.
maybe in a envirnment with careless employees i could see the point your likely trying to make but otherwise i dont see any draw back to the fancy screen. reliability seems very good (atleast with qaulity brands) so whats the big deal. do you know of any instances of screens failing ?

Lincoln you consider a good welder ?
Touch screens dying, and not from "careless employees".
Touch screen bad in that environment.
Period.
it sounds as if your one of them blanket statement type of guys with no merit to your posts. some lincoln screens went bad so every brand is crap ? maybe lincoln is just using low qaulity parts (assembled in mexico with china parts). that would be the logical conclusion to some isolated lincoln failures

what do you do ?
do you have anything specific to fronius machines ? so far your argument is jibberish of some lincoln screens that supposedly went bad. youll need a whole lot more ammo than that. how about something with weight to it like articles or photos or links to forum threads ? do you have anything at all that would suggest these screens are no good across the board ?
