This morning i just finished an extension to some railings that i made and put up a couple of years ago. The extension of 40m i had made a year ago to go somewhere else.
They were put up a week ago by someone else.....i wasn't looking forward to digging all those holes.
They are slightly taller with an extra rail, luckily the new section joins the old on a slope so it doesn't look too bad.
It was two and a bit sections short but i still have the jig so it didn't take long to weld them up.
A couple of pics
The angled bit is where the new section joins the old
The wooden posts had some wire on to keep sheep in/out while the railings were put up
The soil is where i had to dig holes to put up the last two sections
A nice little gate...proper wrought iron, well over 100 years old..it'll proably outlast the mild steel railings. It was missing one of the scrolls off the end so i had to make one out of mild steel and weld it on.
