So, a friend was on holiday at the weekend, and he gets bored quickly when on holiday, so he came over and, pretty much, installed the oil boiler that i purchased years ago, but have not got around to fitting.
Its a modern condensing boiler, current model (or close to it) - grant vortex somthing or other. Its been dry stored.
But...
The burner blows the RCD after about 10 mins or so. Its certainly the burner and none of the rest of it, as we had the pump running with the burner sat on lock out for some time, whilst charging the system.
Now that ive typed that, its clear that its not even the burner being on that causes the earth leakage, but it must specifically be the motor, as it sat on lockout (all powered up) fine.
I ran the unit for some time last night, periodically flipping the breaker, so the boiler got hot, and i hoped that it may all dry out over night (again, its been dry stored anyway) but, alas, no difference.
Anyone got any ideas?
