That’s not a million miles awayI know a few places in Gainsborogh
My house isn’t far away either, if you can put up with a gaggle of children
Depends what you’re wanting to eat.
As above, Marrowbone and Cleaver at Kirmington is good food, good beer and good atmosphere.
Jolly Miller at Brigg was good the last time we went.
Whistle and Flute in Barnetby was good food, although it’s recently changed management and we haven’t been yet.
The Shires at Kirton do some good food too.
Cross Keys at Grasby was excellent food, again we haven’t been recently.
Haymaker Steak House at Elsham golf club did a nice steak last year.
Winteringham Fields is good food but get a bank loan as it gets expensive.
Sadly, Scunthorpe is a lot of nothing these days.
May even gear up with a camping stove and take some food/beer with me.
That’s about 3 miles from where I’m staying, might have to give that a goGuy Martins Pub at Kirton, isnt far away.
Anyone know any good places to eat near Scunthorpe. I’m staying just outside the town, and restaurant at hotel is okay but I’ll get bored after a few days.
anyone know any good places to go in the evening?
If you go to Guy Martins (his sister runs it) Have a look in the gents I think You'll find it quite different in a novel kind of way, Some good memorabilia in there (not in the gents) All that's from the last time I was there. You do have to book though, but check with all this Covid malarky going on.That’s about 3 miles from where I’m staying, might have to give that a go
Typhoo put the T in BRITAIN but who put the C*** in SCUNTHORPECan’t help with where to eat but every time I scroll past the thread title catches my eye and I keep thinking “ how did that get past the forum swear filter “

@4String. will be your man to advise about that, he russles up all sorts of meals in his cab. That'll be a tough job for the pair of you, well done for helping your pal with his sad task.
Take wellies and brollies - I don't think I've ever been in Dundee but it's rained....
