My wife and I were driving home along a very busy main road and I spotted a little young girl walking by herself on the side of the road, we were concerned about her welfare as there wasn't anyone with her so when we pulled up at the lights, the missus jumped out and walked up to the little girl, I did a "U" turn and parked the car on the other side of the road and caught up with them at a shop.
We were concerned for her welfare as it was quite a busy road and nobody else with her anywhere to be seen. Apparently she was sent to the shop to get 2 x 2l of milk, anyway we walked the little girl home which turned out was about a block and a half away, she had been told to get the milk as "she needed the exercise". She was 6.5 years of age!
When we got the girl home, she went inside and the mother came towards the the door, there was no " who are you?, or what are you doing with my daughter?, or thank you for bringing her home safely" She just looked at us and then turned around ignoring us and went back to the kitchen, totally unconcerned and couldn't care less!
No wonder kids go missing. When we got home I rang the Police only to be told that unfortunately that sort of thing happens often in that area but they would check the address and their database and see if they could do anything. That part of town is the dodgy area to be in, with a lot of unemployment and local groups of feral teenagers and adults for that matter!
I cannot understand how any parent would permit that in this day and age, she also had a brother and sister but they also live in different locations. You have got to wonder what sort of life she will have!
