Cheers to everyone who gave me advice on what to go for. Felt like I was going round the bend trying to decide
There seems to be lovers and hater of pretty much every machine ever made....give it take With that in mind, I felt I just had to go with something and see how I get on.
Made the call last night and went with a Lincoln Speedtec. I’m sure I’ll be posting some pics of some bloody awful welds once I get it up and running Might just have to wait a bit to get gas
Yep, no worries....will do.When you get it please can you practice on 1mm thickness (steel) with 0.6 solid wire and let us know how you get on. Thanks
Fantastic idea! Cheers mate. I will track one down from somewhere
Be careful welding old barrels make sure you know what was in it. An old school friend was killed cutting a barrel which had contained thinners at one point
Cheers mate....that is appreciated. I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t think I’ll be taking any chances. I have an old calor gas bottle I was going to muck about with but I’m a little concerned as to how to confirm it had no gas residue left in it...
Bloody hell.....I didn’t know that. Thank you so much for the advice mate. I’ll make sure I do that...it’s been on my mind for a while as to how to tackle it....
Hopefully some time next week. I bought it from Allied Welding. Company based down south.....seemed like a really decent bloke. No problem at all, when is the new welder due to arrive?
