Bloke I’m contracting to at the moment has given up on a pair of Fordson’s due to not having time or energy to spare. He’s also hit a little bit of a bump in the road with one which suffers from a porous block by all accounts.
Had a quick browse on the bay of thieves, and there are a few blocks about, so could be a straight swap. Although from reading the later Major suffers with dropped liners, porous blocks and duff seals, so that’s a starting point at least I suppose.
Question is, for a Fordson Major and a Dexta, in need of quite a bit of repair, does £1600 for them both sound reasonable? I can get the Major for £1000 on its own if I wanted.
Last tractor I/we bought, came in a bundle of kit from a farm selling up with a Howard Paraplough, Yamaha Quad, a bale elevator and a tedder for not a lot of money..
