I tried a bit of 2k thinners on it and it was slow but worked but I don’t think it’ll do the grp or gelcoat any good so I stoppedInterested in the answers
Toluene is the correct solvent for contact adhesive removal, however it will soften and damage GRP
I tried sticky stuff remover but it didn’t do a thingThat’s the issue, plenty of good stuff will remove the glue, but it will also damage the grip / gelcoat
Evostik in the green can and from glass an gelcoat don’t know what resin was usedWhat product do you mean by "contact cement"? Do you want to remove it from the gel coat surface or from the glass? What resin has been used for the fibre glass, polyester or epoxy?
Tried scraping it of with a knife that’s why there’s bare glass as wellPetrol is probably best, if the glass is coming through the resin it may penetrate so don't soak it too much. If it's just on the glass and going to be re-covered you could scrape it off with a knife blade.
It’s a bit expensive for the amount I’ll have to remove probably a few sq meters but I might try some tar removerCan of freeze spray from toolstaion , be quick will chip off ,
