I have two lathe backplates (I assume) which seem pretty old, I don't want/need them (came out of a box of stuff I bought) and I want to put them up for sale with correct dimensions for someone to buy... but how do I measure the threads accurately? I've poked a pitch gauge in there but mine are metric (which I understand!) and there's a fair chance they'll be some sort of Imperial, UNF, Whitworth or something else that I'm not clued up on.
In the following pictures I have marked them up the best I can, the internal dims given are between the crests of the thread, I have no idea of the depth of them short of measuring my pitch gauge and adding that on to the measurements I have taken.
Thanks
Matt
