You can really tell the difference - two spanners, side by side, same part numbers. One proudly says "made in USA". The other doesn't. Its sold all over the place now, not just Sears, so I haven't bought any for some time.
To be honest, with the current exchange rate, it's not really worth it anymore. Although I did get a very nice dial indicating torque wrench from FastoolNow for a very good price last year.

Sears sold Craftsman off a little while back in order to stave off bankruptcy. Owned by Stanley Black and Decker now.
