Indeed. The next step up in terms of professional-ness would be two separate saws I think.
The evolution copes with nails in wood....using it to cut metal sends hot chips into your face.......you need an abrasive wheel
The proper metal working versions of the evolution range the like the 2 and the 4 are lot better when it comes to containing the cups than the woodworking versions like the 3
Right. So that rules out the evolution etc and this thread is pretty redundant. That's a cold saw. They're Jabberwocky lol.
Why? The evolution isn't a cold saw.Right. So that rules out the evolution etc and this thread is pretty redundant.
It uses a toothed blade doesn't it? TctWhy? The evolution isn't a cold saw.
It's a toothed blade but it's not the same. A proper cold saw like the one you linked uses a solid HSS blade and turns about 50 RPM, it's essentially a huge slitting saw and cuts like a milling machine, the part and the chips stay cool to the touch. An Evo is basically a mitre saw with a posh blade, the chips come off red hot and sometimes spark. A proper coldsaw excels on solid material but isn't so good on thiner walled stuff, any chatter and the blade snaps.
