We've had a set since we got married about 18 years old. The are good but blooody heavy when full! We have a induction hob now so need ferris metal in the pans.im not sure about the weight if them on the glass hob though.Winchgirl wants some they are very expensive, got her eye on a Lecruset set on Flea bay, are they worth it?
Thanks but beyond my budgetHow about something like these, you're not paying for the name....

Many years ago I worked with a man who brought a cast iron frying pan into work. he heated the pan to cherry red then threw salt onto the insides baking the salt on. He said his pan was now a non stick pan and that it worked.
I've got some and I like them. I wouldn't say they are that much better than a good normal pan.
The only pointless one they do IMO is the milk pan, that's a pan that needs to lose heat almost instantly.
My wife has a couple of the Le Creuset pans in the orange finish & loves them. One was a wedding present 47 years ago & still going strong, it is a bit discoloured inside no though.
We find good pans cook more evenly and do last, we currently have two sets of Prestige Stainless with copper bottom pans, two we bought new years ago the rest came from the car boot and I just refurbished them Dated 1985 ish , they are much better than any modern ones we have had. Daughter has one at uni but wants cast iron?Go to tkmaxx and spend £30 on a pan in a year or two bin it and get another one they do some cheap sabatier knives too

Tkmax also sell Lecruset stuff reduced. We don’t use the pans really to be honest but use the casserole dishes and wife likes their coffee mugs too. Sainsbury’s sell cheaper no brand versions, suppose other supermarkets may as well.
I've stopped buying Le Creuset at boot sales, as a I've got loads in different colours, orange and blue favourite.
Best thing for slow cooking curries on the back of the rayburn.
Fantastic stuff, unless the enamel starts coming off.
Don't dishwasher it. Seems to affect the enamel, can't explain why.
The fondue sets are my favourite.
Really good for fondue as well, Chuck a night light candle under them, forget the meth s burner, mmm fondue....
