Yeah I was thinking this hahaCut the end off and move it in by a few mm and weld it back on.
Or neatly chase the wall- depending on where you are and what you're fitting.
A grinder and an inverter stick set will be much more portable than a weld planer or plough grinder!
My Grandad was a Steel Planer, according to his death cert.........Ive been in steel all my life and never seen a Planer....
I should I mentioned, finding out something was too big, I’d likely be on site at this point so a mill would be out the question
For example let’s say i was building a railing with flat bar on all 4 sides and pickets in the centre etc to fit on a brick wall between 2 brick pillars but I got my measurements mixed up and I made it 3 or 4mm to wide, the chances are the railing will be galvanised and powder coated too
It’s not happened I’m just prepairing for the eventuality
Measure twice, cut once.
