Last time I carted 4 deep cycle boat batteries to the recycle place, they gave me €600/tonne. A nice surprise, as they weighed 120kg.

Hydrogen that comes off battery acid is it not? Burns cold, yeah i have been inside one of those explosions.Worth about 2-5 quid if you're lucky. Every so often someone at my company gets sacked for selling the scrap batteries..
You need a plastic bucket marked "PE" for polyethylene, it is acid-resistant. Be very careful handling it (i would suggest buying acid-resistant gloves) as sulphuric battery acid will burn and melt your skin quite easily. Also be mindful of the vapour, it is extremely harmful!
Any company can purchase acid. An individual cannot well we all know you cannin reality just like drug dealers still carry knives and thier bosses handguns etcThought there was a ban on selling battery acid. Obviously not....
Last motorbike battery I bought came pre filled.
