My create (multifix) toolholders have suffered a bit over the winter with a lot of them showing some surface rust, I think they are directly underneath where the condensation drips off the roof, it cleans up with scotch brite.
They come with a bead/shot blasted finish which is quite nice but obviously that gets removed along with any rust.
I don't have the gear to reinstate this finish so I was considering soaking them in a citric acid bath, giving them a rub down with scotch brite, putting some cold black on them and then oiling the black to keep the rust at bay. I don't think the black will have any detrimental effect on the contact areas.
Any other good ideas for them before I streak ahead with this?
