I'm watching this with interest too as I would like to try some. I haven't any experience of them other than watching a friend use a roto on a mag drill to put a hole through a large thick I beam.
Oh and I have seen a YT video of a bloke building a log splitter in OZ and he used a couple in his pillar drill with success but his 'adaptor' looks more beefy than the one on ebay you have shown. Are there any other options do you know?
no difference apart from one doesn't need a chuck keyI thought all drill presses worth their salt have morse taper chucks. Mine is a draper and has one. I removed the keyed chuck and replaced it with a keyless. presume then I can fit a morse taper adaptor to take rotos?
Do you know if I can slow down my drill press further? Its a draper 5 speed 2500 to 660 rpm. Need to get it down to around 200 for a roto to work well I would think.
How thick of a cut could be made with them on mild steel?why not try the TCT Versadrive tank cutters fit into a normal chuck I use them in hand drill they work much the same !
Can you show a couple of photos when you get a chance? What make of drill have you got?mine has a place to add a central idler step pulley - that gives me two-stage reduction (when i get round to fitting it)
