try a wallpaper roller or something like ?
I don't know if you were doing it alone but we found you need two people. One to stand up and hold it taught at the glued surface whilst the other works on hands and knees and uses finger tips to push the bit you are holding down onto the impact adhesive.
What adhesive are you using?
its not perfect but it will do.

Do you have an equivalent of the HPi register in Spain where written off vehicles are recorded ?
I'm sure it looks a lot better than it did! The dents are probably from where the glues has got in the sponge cells and stuck them together when you've pressed.
If you're in Barcelona, you'll find out whether the glue was good enough next summer!
