On my Clarke I use a gloved hand to get the shroud off....jeff
Removing the shroud by hand isn't usually a problem, the tip is though, I think that the thread on mine has seen better days.
Being able to clean the inside of the shroud with these pliers would be a nice plus.
I use a small, stiff [stop sniggering at the back] bottle brush for that when it's required.

I usually squirt some anti-spatter spray inside the shroud before fitting and use tip dip during welding.

Yeah they are a gimmicky waste of money. A gloved hand for the shroud and a standard pair of pliers/cutters for everything else.
I use the ones BOC sell and would not be without them.
