concrete fence posts..securing the panels ?

ive ordered a load of concrete posts and new fence panels

id like to secure the panels so they cant be easily lifted up by randoms passing by , i was thinking a couple of screws through the fence butting up against the post or maybe some wedges in the top?

any clever ideas please?

A little cement at the top of the panels does the trick, a cheap ready mixed bag will do the job

caulk em in with a bit of no nails ever tried removing it

yea wedges are good as when they are lifted they go tighter into wedge

Presumably the slotted concrete posts?

Plug and screw through the panel into the post at 45 degrees?

How high are the panels? Mine are 6ft on 1ft gravel boards, no ones going to lift them out.

would they not be able to lift em 18" so they can crawl through?

Never thought about that, but mine are between neighbour and me so I can't see them needing to.

Ours are 6Ft + concrete gravel boards on concrete posts that have slots for panels there are holes right through the post, drilled holes in panels to suit & knocked in 6 inch nails.

If you decide on a method that involves holes into the concrete posts then fill the holes with silicone before driving the screws in, water that's tracked down the screw into the hole and then freezing results in a nice little bit of post cracked out.

Just put the panel in first with the concrete gravel board on top.

yeah not sure i fancy drilling the posts , i know it wont be a high security fence but wouldnt mind spending the time to do the best i can , unsecured theyre a bit too easy to lift up if you fancy a snout round someones garden

Ours have been up for over 25 years with no cracks there are no plugs in the 8\9mm holes, not as cold down here as up north though
We used to have a post Co renting a yard from us all their posts had holes for 3 row wire fence & slot for panels to slide into they always fitted panels with nails in wire holes

Don't drill by the reinforcing rod ,otherwise it will corrode then the concrete bursts off.

I used 9-12" lengths of "builders band" folded around the post and the ends screwed to adjacent panels.

I don't know if you mean cheap and simple, make yourself or you want to buy some, but there's loads of versions to buy, from screw on to clamp on just google - fence panel security clips - or similar!

I notice round here the council use spray foam at the ends, maybe that's to stop them rattling though.

Handy when the kids kick the ball over the fence at grandads. A quick lift of the panel and they scoot under to get it
