What richard is saying Is what I done. I borrowed the cash from the bank, as when my tig came up I really was needing something with some reliability and a few more features. All paid back now. Well worth it.

That little HT200 package would of been perfect for what giz needs.
High end quality portable kit with cooler and pedal. I bet he'd like the flexloc torch too for those manifolds and tube work.

Just worried i'm borrowing too much money. Currently in the process of leasing a 2 post ramp so i can get some more exhaust work in.

I have been looking at the R-Tech Units because of the Finance they offer. But the Machines scare me with all those knobs, specially since mine is a simple machine.

Well 4 hr test run today to check temps and seems fine.
First pic is before switch on and been sitting all night.
Then next pics are after 1, 2, 3 and 4 hrs.

Next test will be with some welding, not sure when I will manage that as I will likely be working away all week, so maybe next weekend unless I get finished early one day.
If water temp seems fine then I am happy to go ahead and order some Alu to get a new tank made

Any ideas what the motor temp was? Is it heating the tank above? Mine got well hot out in the open running for an hour.

Gauge on right is motor temp, one on left is pump temp (have probe stuck in hole in pump)

Oh and no it doesnt seem to be heating the tank, the airflow from the fan seems to be making sure the heat gets blown out.

This is the trick mate. If your getting the warm air out then it doesn't matter what temp that motor gets up to.

This tank should be worst case as water is above and the end of the motor is actually touching the Alu, so if it is fine in this I have no doubts at all that Mk2 tank will be fine.
The only thing I need to test for now is whether the volume of water will be enough to keep things cool or whether I will need a rad. No big deal as there will be space for a rad but it will be tight

Is mk2 a 12lt tank also?
If so I think that sort of volume would be ok without a rad.
Your only using a 200 amp machine and it's not gonna be doing 10 hour welding shifts every day I can't imagine.
My Fronius only has a 2ltr tank and small exchanger 1 fan and this was built to cope with 220 amps doing 10 hour shifts 5 days a week so I think so long as that sort of volume is there you'll be fine without.

It will be 10L I think so slightly smaller volume but not much.
No, will not be doing many long shifts with the tig, might be using the Tig on the Cheetah Cats, depends on what owners want, if they want neat then it is tig and then they pay in time, if they want good enough then it is mig and time is a lot less. I will be doing stuff where I am using the welder all day but it will not be constant as I will be cutting/fitting Alu etc so probably out of a shift there will be a max of 3 or 4 hrs tig welding and it will not be a straight 4hrs.

Been working away so not had a chance to do anything to the Mk2 tank other than write the code for the plasma.
The original was on with wire wrap covered with heatshrink but I just used a cable tie. The pegs I made for the torches to hang on were fine for the 4m torch but the 8m one kept falling off, no such problems now, it is nice and flexible

Been busy the last while and will be for a while yet so bought a cooler from @Richard. ,until I get time to make my own, it arrived today.
Hooked it up and have just done a couple of small stainless welds and everything is working fine

Yep, filled it up, bit awkward the way the filler is as I didn't have a funnel but found some shim stock and made one out of that
