New workshop

Evening men.
cleared one of my sheds out today, so
moved out of my small shed and into a slighty bigger room. Want to start scratch, (new bench, tool storage etc.
Whats your ideas for the space i have,
Around 10ft x 12.
Want to do this all without any regrets of doing it different. which i why im asking for your experienced opinions for a convenient workshop.
Any ideas Much appreciated!

Its alot bigger than the old room. 5 spacious sheds and full of crap, so decided to clear this one out, closest one to the house, so less to walk! That will be one thing i wont regret.

What do you want to do in there? this would be my first question; followed by do you need the flexibility of having things which move around; followed by what fixed items do you want in there.

Obvious fixed items would be things like a fire, tool chests/drawers, or shelving.

New to welding so Mainly welding/fabricating for this shed. I will be making a bench with casters attatched. Storage attatched to the wall + wheelable storage. im a carpenter by trade but want everything to be steel in here, so dont really know how to go about making a perfect welding bench.

A section of my new shed is designated for welding grinding and general mayhem. A small bit sectioned off for bench tig work that can be kept warm and the rest made spark proof, you dont often get a choice where you spray your sparks so worth thinking about.

They are all banned, Diesel and Twostroke spray everything in dog oil and the pup has taken to opening my packages for me.

Yea its going to be designed just for metal work so hopefully nothing to ignite. Currently no electric in them sheds. Cut out on me a few months ago. How much roughly would a spark charge to wire the shed with a few sockets. Have a seperate fuse box and wires running to the shed so no need for a new fusebox. Currently just have lights in at the moment.

Have you seen those walls? Fresh coat of cement would come in handy.

As said before, it all depends what you are going to be making, a welding table on castors is a good idea but not if you are making a heavy one that you plan to batter steel on.

Shelves to stop the floor being cluttered but only if you are storing stuff suitable for shelves, some form of rack for the lengths of steel, although they could be stored under the bench on the floor.

I think most of us even with the best of planning have moved things around after a while when we realise the first idea was ok but not the best.

Ahh yes. To the OP - probably best to avoid any black and tan mutts as it seems to be a reoccurring problem:

Its worth running trunking around the walls and have plugs all over the place, I included a circuit with both 15 and 30 amp sockets in both 110v and 240v. Transformer is out of the way by the fuseboard, very rarely do I need an extension lead. Dont forget the air

I made the mistake of going too small on the trunking, it fills up quickly. Too avoid confusing myself I used singles and marked them up, the 110 circuit is in different colours. Its probably easier to run the trunking around first and then mount the sockets, there is a conduit joiner/socket between each socket and the trunking.

I'd say that would be your starting point right there. Get the walls sorted out,stabilised & painted so they're not dripping dust onto everything (been there with dads sheds. Bit of a nightmare to say the least).
Sorry to be a killjoy as I know you'll be keen to crack on to the fun stuff but you'll not regret it if you do it now.

Yea its looking like it will be my starting point. Although, The only thing holding me back from doing that is, i plan in the next couple years to Revevate the sheds into one large room. Its a large building with 3 seperate rooms and a loft above. Or knock it down an build a large shed. Would kind of costs would it be to rewire this shed with sockets and render the walls?
