Pass them by! Boc online are doing 4 packs of bohler pheonix blau for 75 pounds ish! Know that's nearly double the cost but they are a fantastic electrode. Personally I'd stick with a well known brands.

I sometimes use Super6 5356 Alu wire in the spool gun and it seems ok, also had some Super6 316 stainless rods and they were decent enough but the best stainless ones I have used recently are Geka.
Never used Super6 steel rods though so can't say about them sadly.

id try them at that price I still have some cheapies from toolstation that perform as well as the phoneix and hyandi sticks they are shorter in length though so check the length of the super 6 rods

I've been tempted by such cheapness in the past and it's not worth it unless you're lucky enough to get a box where every rod behaves the same and in a good way. Whether you're learning or an experienced welder you're not doing yourself any favors risking rods that are hard work.

super6 rods are a bit meh.
you can get a good weld out of them and they are relativly consistent. you can weld with them in all positions but it's not pleasant. for my prefearance the flux is to slow setting and to runny but that dose mean on the flat your less likely to get slag incluisions.
on the flat you'll get on fine, they'll go vertical up but its very steady.

To be fair, they actually seem to make decent welders (maybe they're importing from somewhere else
), there are some good reviews on here and I recently picked up a second hand inverter cheap and it's incredibly tiny, seems to run rods very nicely and I think it's a pretty good bit of kit. I think it's the first French thing I've ever purchased, normally I've made sure to stay very clear based on what I've known about the build quality of some things!I have got some boxes of GYS rods at work (totally separate to me having rods to sell) when asking where the Phoenix ones were which is when I was told about the takeover. I've not burnt enough yet to be able to say anything for sure but my initial impression is that they're good, if not exactly the same. Hopefully it'll last!

lets hope so maybe they just brought the company out and they still make the rods to there spec, I avoid french made stuff too I think the French cars made us this way! Keep us updated about the sticks though they could well be exactly the same
