the copper is thinner walled and probably made in china
probably seamless tube costs a fortunewhy is a 3m length of 22mm od steel pipe more expense than the same size and length of copper pipe
Copper is around £13 quid is, am I potentialy getting done over ?
ha ha it is but compare it too old copper pipe it is less than half as thick in the walls
1/2" steel water pipe is very close to 22mm od. I don't know the exact size. It depends how accurate you need it. Might be worth a look.Ok can someone recommend where I can get a 3m length of steel pipe/tube, thin wall is ok and not fused about spec etc etc. Has to be 22mm OD, prefer if local ish to me
Worth checking, but I recall compression fittings being used on 1/2" galv pipe in an emergency once. Long time ago in a past life, I can't recall whether it was 3/4 fittings or 22mm, but you used to be able to get 3/4 compression rings to adapt 22mm fittings. Don't know if they would be still available though as this was 40 years agoOk clearly I'm being taken for a ride then with prices being quoted.
22mm is critical for me as I want to use it with standard compressing fittings

EDIT 22mm stainless tube should be readily available, would that do the job?
what are you making? will brass fittings be ok on steel pipe
