went to see a man today who said he had a wacker plate for sale he said he wanted £180 for , went and had a look and met this big lad ,works a treat but has a slight diesel leak on the tank , nearly killed myself getting it in the van and that was with two lads helping...lol ,thank god I had my electric pallet lifter when I got back

its not as big as the diesel one I have 4 blokes cant lift it. it has to be dragged on scaffie rollers and would brake a scaffolding plank putting it in me trailer

I wish I'd had some scaffold poles with me...lol , just went to look at it or I would have taken some rsj ramps I have ,just didn't want to leave it in case he changed his mind

I compacted me gravel drive with it a few times . when it rains water just stands on it its flattened it that much . it has forward and reverse lever on it

They are great with the forward and reverse but for £180 I will just have to dig my boots in to try and stop it..lol ,got 20 ton of road plantings dropped off for £80 so will use it to do that then strip it down and service and paint it

the best laugh ive had with it was lending it to a builder he filled the floor foundations up in a room with 3 foot of dolomite and pulled it in on top and started it up it instantly sank in a foot and wouldn't move it took 4 of them with rope and tubes to haul it back up and out

21 years ago I happened to live on an out in the sticks single track road that was being re surfaced at harvest time , had a chat with the foreman & slipped him £20 , then kept an eye out for the road sweeper truck arriving a day or so after the road was rolled giving the driver £50 for five full sweeper loads .
His boss was happy as well , for it saved them valuable time & fuel from having to do the round trip of 20 miles to the usual dumping place it also allowed them to move on to the next job a day & a half early .

Those German Hatz engines are fantastic with very very long lives so long as you are OCD about clean fuel & air filters and changing the oils on time using a log book of hours run .

In my hire fleet i had eleven of them on various high speed machines such as 60 cycle/sec heavy duty vibrating pokers , similar sized vibrating plates to yours ( also Wacker ) .& railway line steel track cutting chop saws that were bolted to the line to be cut .

If you look carefully at the rear of the vibrating plate above the actual smoothing face there is a couple of drop in & lock in channels on on either side for putting the plate on an axle that has 250 mm x 50 wide, needle roller bearing'ed rubber wheels on steel rims .

just asked the lads doing the road near me if I could have the road planings he said yes and I showed him where I wanted them , said they would be back soon to do some more and took my number to ring me , had already had loads of crushed brick dropped of for £6 a ton

LOL round here we call em road planings and my point is they make the best drive way...100 times better than crusher run. I had them in a property i once owned and bought 40 tonn,in a year it went as hard as the original road it came from.

Need a load more yet , got to scrape about 100 square metres off on my bit land to make it all hardstand so I can spin my trailer around on it ,will scrape it back to clay and use crushed brick as hard-core after first digging some soak aways then put the planings on top ,then I will probably fill it with projects and more carp.....lol
