well, as the title suggests my girlfriend wanted a go at tig welding.. After all, it was only fair seeing as she took the plunge and bought me a decent DC setup for my birthday.. 
She has had absolutely no previous welding/fab experience, although she does do autograss racing so isn't your typical girl who's only into handbags and lipstick..
I gave her very little help, merely explained the principals of it; I even let her set the machine up by herself.
Needless to say, I was impressed! Probably a heck of a lot better than the welds I produced the first time I picked up a torch
