Cheap digital calipers might have the same accuracy, precision & resolution on paper as spendy examples but they are properly nasty things IMO... a Mitutoyo caliper is as smooth as a silk scarf being dragged over the freshly oiled thigh of a handmaiden, by comparison a Lidl digital caliper is like rubbing two bastard files together. And they eat batteries
I don't know what's wrong with my digi calipers from lidl.
I've had them 3 years now, still on the original battery, used for maybe 3 'sessions' a week (sometimes just playing).
they may not be as smooth running as the mitutoyo but for measuring crappy rough metal. I'm hardly likely to use my decent moor and wright and mitutoyo good ones on the lathe till I'm down to the few thou cuts to keep them mint and clean. as I said if u need accuracy finish off with a decent micrometer and if your not sure on them buy a set of slip gauges and test them regular https://mech-engg.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/slip-gauge-or-gage-blocks-description.htmlCheap digital calipers might have the same accuracy, precision & resolution on paper as spendy examples but they are properly nasty things IMO... a Mitutoyo caliper is as smooth as a silk scarf being dragged over the freshly oiled thigh of a handmaiden, by comparison a Lidl digital caliper is like rubbing two bastard files together.
