The problem is going to be that people are going to sell any crap and the city folk are going to buy them. not knowing the bulkhead is gone.

at the risk of offending anyone, and in my humble opinion, the defender has long been overpriced for what it offers compared with other similar vehicles! You could get a lot more for your money.

crazy price for one of them.
i had a 2.0L mk3 capri back in the day.
was a nice car, little light on the back end
bag of cement in the boot sorted that out.
wouldn't mind another one, but very pricey even for a wreck...

I knew a guy 10 years ago with more than 5 Capri's on his drive in various states of repair, He always told me they where all special for this and that. Probably sat on a gold mine now

I know I'll buy one one day and I know I would've overpaid for it but that's just something I'll have to deal with due to its popularity and following. I would spend around £8-10k for one that's done or upto £3k for a project. Just now though i can't justify it when for £10k I can get a disco 3 commercial with rear seats that is both practical for work and at home

and can you justify that against spending just a little more on a brand new pick up crew cab ? this is what has really killed the working landrover and disco . I think it was 13k+ vat or so for ours new with 5 years 100k warranty

I considered a pick up but the tub being exposed means I'd have to buy a truck man top which takes it away from being a pick up Imo. I had a navara a few years back and it got quite tedious having to go to the workshop each night just to unload the gear off the back before going home. With a disco commercial or defender I could go straight home. The rear seats would only get used now and again as I have only one day a week off so only emptying the truck each Saturday

True, if I had my toy of choice it would be a truck can 90 with a v8 engine. No practicality what so ever for work or family but the smile on my face would outweigh the other two by far (just don't tell the wife)

Make your own hard top with gull wing doors in the side ( as uu do) and they make a cool site vehicle racked directly behind for leads and such

The drug dealers all have rang rover sports and BMW 5 series round here with blacked out windows. They stand out like a sore thumb. Having old Trafford and city's ground just five minutes away from the centre brings all sorts of fancy motors coming through

But then your limiting yourself to what you can carry. I love pick up trucks but the dog is too timid to sit in the back fitted with a truck man top and would die of freight.
Ideally for work a 110 commercial would be best choice but as I'd have best of all worlds apart from it not being my dream car (90 which would be useless except for towing) the disco commercial also appeals to the wife for the weekends so that helps me being fed!

disco commercial or defender has no rear seats at all you would have to pull up the van floor to modify it for rear seats
