good quality thick latex gloves

my usual supplier (work) have changed from the decent thick latex gloves to cheap thin ones that snap as soon as you put them on...

where can i get some good thick ones for working on the car?

i still have a fair few left in my bag but will run out fairly soon so need to get some more when i do

I use blue nitrile there are a few grades I will get the part number from them tomorrow
It tool me along time to find decent quality at a good price

thanks john, appreciate that...i used to be able to buy black ones, they were nitrile, used to get them from one of the motor factors but they went bust and i no one else knows what im talking about when i ask if they sell them...

there is a cleaning supply place not too far from me i think...might pop in and see what they have.

i never used to wear gloves, even though i have eczema on my hands it never used to get bothered by it, oil, fuel, grease, rtv...nothing used to irritate my skin but my medication has changed to a different brand and now if my hands get dirty, especially with car related stuff they burn and itch like mad so quite keen to use decent gloves that dont tear as i just end up having to wash my hands every time they get dirty and then get a new glove and it gets tedious after a while

I used to clean my hands with sand & paraffin before I went out on a date
They were still engrained with oil
I wear them for cooking now lol

i used to use sugar and dish soap...my mrs was fed up of me using all the dish soap on my hands so she bought me some swarfega...my skin really didnt like that so now she just buys 2 bottles of dish soap at a time...i have noticed the benfits of gloves though...its nice to stop for a tea break and just take your gloves off to see a clean pair of hands

I find the best are the green touch and tuff nitrile gloves. However they are rather expensive so I usually buy the blue nitrile gloves from a local engineering merchants . Not quite as strong but half the price!

I have three types of nitrile glove.

Standard black ones I get from work
Long-cuff blue ones I use for degreasing in the safety-kleen tank
Heavy duty green 'chemical resistant' ones I have just one box of. I keep them for handling anything 'orrible.

Just a word of warning I bought the long-cuff ones from justgloves. They automatically select the dearest next-day postage option and they don't list it until you go to pay, so if you aren't sharp you don't realise it and pay for next day delivery. I was a bit miffed about it but thought oh well at least I'll get them next day but noooo, they took a few days to come and I had to raise a complaint to get the postage refunded.

Wash parts in caustic your hands come out lovely and pink, if a bit slippery.

I don't get on with gloves, but wear them when I have to keep things clean.
I sometimes by latex gloves by mistake, once the box is 6 months old they just
split.

I've tried all kinds of gloves over the years and none of them compare to the Tiger Grip nitrile gloves, as used by Ed China on Wheeler Dealers! They are thicker than standard nitrile gloves & are more resistant to puncturing and tearing. A pair will last me a few days instead of a few hours like std gloves. They're not cheap to buy but work out cheaper coz they last so long.

If I'm working on anything that is likely to damage the gloves I wear a pair of these over my Tiger Grips.

Another vote for tiger grip best value and strongest of all them I use them doin cars lorrys lasers powder coating spraying and Iv even welded in them

That's Edd China's own website isn't it? Price isn't too bad until you realise there's only half the number of pairs in each box that you get with other gloves. I'd like to know where they can be got as normal prices per 100.

I have to give my vote to the orange tiger grip nitrile gloves as well. They are very resilient to rips and punctures. I get them from my local fastener supplies, they are the normal length though, not the long ones.
