Are we alone?

Watching a documentary about 'the roswell incident' earlier and was just wondering what you all think.
My personal opinion is that we can't possibly be the only inhabited planet in the entire universe but I'm still undecided as to whether I think 'they' have been to see us .

Hmmm...Good question.

Personally, I can not beleive that ours is the only life-bearing planet in the universe (that would, indeed, make it a lonely planet!).

I guess that the real question is....out of all the inhabited planets that surely must exist, how developed are we? And mores to the point (and picking up on what you say, Wozzaah) could they travel here?

We think that we're actually quite advanced, but, let's face it (and being slightly controversial here) we may not even have been to the Moon yet.

Got to agree re life out there - as there are an infinite number of planets/stars/galaxies out there, I think it almost goes without saying there is intelligent life apart from humans and crows (didn't you know? Ignore all that stuff about dolphins - bloody fools).

Has other life been here? Obviously - Maggie T is not of this earth - Remember Terrahawks? I rest my case...

I do think that there has to be life out there, I also believe they 'visit' us.
If the universe is infinite there has to be intelligent life out there (because there isn't any down here, that's for sure!! )
I also think that the 'governments' know but if we can't live together peacefully on Earth how would the nutters cope with knowing that there's life outside?

Im sure most of the people I do work for are from a different planet, possibly in the far outer reaches there could be life, but I tend to put UFO,s in the same collection as faith healers, goblins, ghosts etc etc.

There was a programme on beeb1 last night, title "on the fiddle" for sure alien to this planet, some weird and not so wonderful peeps. But clever though, we work, they don't and, we pay them our hard earned dosh!!

I think the people of East Lancashire probably resemble Stephen Hawkin's vision the most; they appear in all forms of strange mutation (through inter-breeding) & cannot seem to grasp the concept of money, ie.it's for spending, not replacing the horse hair in your mattress!

I don't know if we are "alone" or not, but I'm pretty sure aliens wouldn;t travel for thousands of years (unless they can travel incredibly fast - as the distances are too big to comprehend properly) and then crash. Or indeed decide to visit the oddest of rednecks in the remotest parts of the US in secret.

Seems to me they would introduce themselves a little more dramatically - either by a good old HELLO DOWN THERE on loudspeaker or invade and take the beautiful planet earth for themselves.

If they ever attack I'll be in my garage, holding my welding torch and clamp - "come here alien....." Bzzzzzzzzz!
